I grew up with fairy tales Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella and many others. I remember reading:
- Snow White needed a prince to save her from a wicked witch
- Sleeping Beauty had to be kissed by a prince to be brought back to life
- Cinderella needed a prince to find her and pass the glass slipper test to marry him and become rich
Not a single fairy tale that talks about a woman taking on her own journey, dealing with her own lives troubles and taming her own dragons, not to mention finding some frogs who will never turn to prince no matter how much and how sweetly you kiss them. In fact fairy tales are just that – fairy tales. While I had my own share of reading Mills and Boon, I eventually came to believe that every share of a fairy tale ought to have an alternate ending.
If fairy tales were reality then
- Snow White would be more like Arya Stark draw out her sword called “Needle”, fight on her own like an ultimate badass
- Sleeping Beauty would have an alarm clock waking her up so that she can get to her work (which never ends) while living her independent life
- And Cinderella’s prince would probably find a younger, new girlfriend as soon as she loses her youth! Leaving her to manage her own finances!
In other words – we are living in a world where women need to learn how to take care of themselves right from a young age and equip themselves to be happy. Part of this equipping is to achieve financial independence through personal financial management.
My family has many cousins and aunts – many of whom are older than me, so there is limited use that they can get from Omfiniti. But my family is also filled with many nieces, grandnieces not to mention my extended family of neighborhood angels who play with my son and study with him and countless young professionals who worked with me in Oracle.
My hope is that all of them use Omfiniti and find financial empowerment to equip themselves to find happiness and prosperity in their lives. My wish list includes happiness for them, but if for whatever reason they are not happy, then atleast be unhappy in the lap of luxury… haha… what is life without our ability to take a little bit of bad with the good in our stride?
And while I do wish that for girls explicitly, I also wish the same financial independence for my babies – Eeshaan, Saahil and Krivi who are smart young men as well as all the young men out there – may the Omfiniti force be with all of you!
To that we say “Om”.
