Omfiniti – spreading prosperity

Om = God, Fin = Finance, Niti = code of conduct or way of life. Omfiniti stands for hope and optimism that our planet becomes a place where humans can lead a way of life that is filled with happiness and financial prosperity for all. Just the way God intended. Omfiniti also stands for infinity and positivity that God has in store for all of us.

We are a young company that wants to make our society a more prosperous and happier place for our children. While there are thousands of ways to do so, our fundamental belief is that happy people make up a happy society. If we can contribute to improving people’s happiness then our objective will be achieved. We would have left the world a better place than we were born in.

While human happiness is a philosophical debate that will be around for as long as humans are around, we have restricted our simplistic definition to one tiny part of it. Presence of money does not guarantee happiness, but absence of money guarantees unhappiness!

Whether we quote ancient Indian philosophy of Panchtantra or our favorite psychologist Abraham Maslow and his famous “Maslow’s hierarchy of needs” – it all points to money being one of the essential ingredients of happiness (amongst others).

So what can a small start up do to help a society become a prosperous place? Our answer is – we can help the society by bringing financial literacy to its citizens in a way that allows them to touch, feel, smell, break things, put together things and in the process learn concepts of money management and while doing so have FUN!!!

Here we are – offering Omfiniti simulations to people so that for a price of a Starbucks coffee or maybe a movie ticket, we can help them understand principles of personal financial management. The aim is not to go deep, but go wide and in the process connect all the dots so that the big picture of personal financial management is clear to our community of Omfinians. If we can help create a community of Omfinians who have empowered themselves and built their own personal financial plans, then they will take a step closer to happiness and prosperity. We hope you have fun and learn and become happy and prosperous!

To that we say – “Om”.

Our purpose is to help spread happiness and prosperity through our simulation and services.

Our passion is to bring together principles of personal financial management with technology in a way that allows us to offer AI-powered, hyper-personalized, learning solutions to young adults so that they may not only understand the theory of how money works in our lives but also develop some insights in to how they can be in control as they go through life.

A society where people can identify their needs and manage their resources better to fulfill their life’s aspirations will ultimately create a happier society. To that we say “Om”.

  • 1975 The Beginnings

I was blessed to grow up in a family where education and middle-class Indian values were emphasized constantly. My family understood the value of resources and how to manage the resources more efficiently and effectively. This knowledge was passed on in my family in the traditional parent to child format. Its tough for me to forget these lessons learnt. A child benefits financially because the child’s parents and grandparents have sacrificed so that a child may live a privileged life

  • 1997 Our Career

As I grew up I was privileged to study in VJTI – a great engineering college in Bombay. I was privileged to receive the high quality education which allowed me to start my career as computer/software engineer using technology to create banking solutions for Oracle where I understood principles of finance from world class professionals. I stayed on to work with them for 23+ years.

  • 2021 Omfiniti - The Dream

I love technology, I love creating things, I love managing resources, I love living a good life – all essential ingredients for baking a tasty cake called Omfiniti.

  • 2023 Dream into Reality

So I believe that my family values combined with my love for technology and passion for personal finance culminated in a start up that now wants to make society a happier place and spread prosperity and optimism. I invite you all to help me make the world a happier place.

Girl Power

I grew up with fairy tales Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella and many others. I remember reading:

  • Snow White needed a prince to save her from a wicked witch
  • Sleeping Beauty had to be kissed by a prince to be brought back to life
  • Cinderella needed a prince to find her and pass the glass slipper test to marry him and become rich

Not a single fairy tale that talks about a woman taking on her own journey, dealing with her own lives troubles and taming her own dragons, not to mention finding some frogs who will never turn to prince no matter how much and how sweetly you kiss them. In fact fairy tales are just that – fairy tales. While I had my own share of reading Mills and Boon, I eventually came to believe that every share of a fairy tale ought to have an alternate ending.

If fairy tales were reality then
  • Snow White would be more like Arya Stark draw out her sword called “Needle”, fight on her own like an ultimate badass
  • Sleeping Beauty would have an alarm clock waking her up so that she can get to her work (which never ends) while living her independent life
  • And Cinderella’s prince would probably find a younger, new girlfriend as soon as she loses her youth! Leaving her to manage her own finances!

In other words – we are living in a world where women need to learn how to take care of themselves right from a young age and equip themselves to be happy. Part of this equipping is to achieve financial independence through personal financial management.

My family has many cousins and aunts – many of whom are older than me, so there is limited use that they can get from Omfiniti. But my family is also filled with many nieces, grandnieces not to mention my extended family of neighborhood angels who play with my son and study with him and countless young professionals who worked with me in Oracle.

My hope is that all of them use Omfiniti and find financial empowerment to equip themselves to find happiness and prosperity in their lives. My wish list includes happiness for them, but if for whatever reason they are not happy, then atleast be unhappy in the lap of luxury… haha… what is life without our ability to take a little bit of bad with the good in our stride?

And while I do wish that for girls explicitly, I also wish the same financial independence for my babies – Eeshaan, Saahil and Krivi who are smart young men as well as all the young men out there – may the Omfiniti force be with all of you!

To that we say “Om”.
